She Called Bobby 3

Sola opened her eyes.
“Victor our relationship has lost its flavor. It has become a routine, and we are so used to each other. Bobby is a friend and he means nothing to me. Honestly, I thought of him a lot but it was nothing. I would never hurt you and you know it.”
“So Bobby is just a friend?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t like him.”
“You are just jealous.” Sola smiled.
“A man is never jealous.”
“My man got jealous. Victor, I love you.”
Victor looked away. Not that he did not believe Sola, he felt guilty. First of accusing her, and secondly because she had been right about giving away years of her life to him. He wanted to marry her, not just because it was an obligation but because he could not imagine life without Sola. He looked at the counselor.
“So Cathy, what now?”
Catherine cleared her throat, she felt like a judge at the supreme level.
“Here is what I think you should do. Take a break from each other. Your next session is in two weeks. Take a break until then. Do not call, text or see each other. It would give you both the chance to sort out your feelings. The next time you would be meeting would be at our next session. We’ll take it up from there.”
“Thank you, Cathy.”
“Thank you.”
As they walked out Catherine wrote in her pad== Victor, Fear of commitment?
*****                                              ****         ****
Victor shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Then he started pacing. His heart was racing and he couldn’t help it. He heard the door unlock from the inside. He took a step back as he was faced by a well built guy.
“You must be Victor, I’m Bobby.”He stretched out his hand for a handshake.
“What are you doing here?!” Victor demanded.
Bobby dropped his outstretched hand and walked back into the house without another word. Victor stood outside listless. So just six days break and Sola had brought another man in? Just because this Bobby guy is well built, tall, good looking and probably rich. Why are women so vain? He started walking away. Just to think that he would have embarrassed himself.
“Victor!!”
He looked back. The Bobby guy was coming to him and waving him to stop. Victor sighed, now he was going to be beaten up or probably killed for love. He did not envy St. Valentine. He probably should have worked out more so he could take down this Bobby guy. But he knew he would not survive those muscles. I love you mother, he whispered.
“Look Victor, stop being so childish.”
“I beg your pardon?” This guy has nerves. If not for those muscles, heaven knows….
“Sola broke her ankle at the gym this morning, I brought her home and that is why I am here so early. I am leaving now so you better go take care of your girl. Except you want me to do that?” Bobby was grinning.
Victor hated the guy more.
“No thank you for your help. I will take care of her.”
Victor ran into the house and saw Sola seated a sofa with her bandaged leg on a table. After getting her food, Victor carried Sola into the room for a nap. As he was putting her on the bed, he became very sure that he would not survive it if she was with someone else.  He took the ring out of his pocket. His heart started pounding again.
“Sola will you marry me?”
“What took you so long? If you think I would say No, then you are in for a disappointment because Yes, Victor. I will marry you.”
Victor laughed. Typical Sola. She talks too much.
“So Sola, about Bobby…”
Sola’s eyes were already shut in sleep. He drew her to him as he drifted asleep himself. Sola smiled and snuggled up to him.

Catherine and Bobby laughed as they read the invitation to the wedding of Mr. Victor Edwards and Miss Sola Adisa.
“Three months in business and a wedding already. I’m proud of you Catherine.”
“All thanks to you Bobby, for following the plan through. And to God for the coincidence of the ankle incident. That was so not part of the plan. But men sef, do you have to be coerced into everything?
“Well, I imagine Victor would have a fit if he finds out it was all a plan.”
“He definitely would.”
THE END
Alternate ending
Victor did choke on his drink when Sola, Cathy and Bobby told him the truth. But he was grateful all the same. And he realized he did not hate Bobby after all.

NB: I had to use two endings because i wasn't sure of which was better. so it is up to you to choose your favourite. and sorry this post came a day late, network was not smiling at all.
